Reteaching and Retest Grading Procedures
  • Updated Retesting Policies
Our updated retest policy increases instructional time while decreasing testing time and retesting. MTSS should be considered for students regularly requiring retests. Quarterlies will not be retested. Please contact your child’s teacher if clarification is needed.

  • Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd Grade: English Language Arts/Reading
Teachers will review test errors with students within small groups as we need students to learn from their mistakes. This updated process provides students with valuable feedback, so a retest is not provided.

  • 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th: English Language Arts/Reading
Students scoring below a 60% are afforded an opportunity to retest. Students complete error analysis for incorrect answers. Students are given half credit for revised answers with a max score of 69%. If their retest score is higher than their original score, the original score is not calculated in their gradebook.

  • K–6 Math
Teachers continue to reteach students that score below a 60% in Math. Students are tested no earlier than 5 days after the assessment. Students are given half credit for revised answers with a max score of 69%. Test corrections or work must be shown for corrected answers. If their retest score is higher than their original score, the original score is not calculated towards their grade.

  • Science/Social Studies Reteach and Retest
Teachers continue to reteach students that score below 60%. Students are tested no earlier than 5 days after the assessment. Students are given half credit for revised answers with a max score of 69%. If their retest score is higher than their original score, the original score is not calculated towards their grade.
